Music school admission
Music schools are very visible learning institutions in many progressive countries of the world. Unfortunately, in developing countries this type of institution is hard to find except maybe in the country’s capital.
The general fundamental criteria for admission of candidates in music school are no difference in normal schools, except for other requirements suited only for music schools.
The following are basic criteria for the admission of new students in a music school. This can help you if you intend to enroll in music school. The Yale University in the US has listed the following criteria.
Completed application form. When you apply for the 2008-2009 the Yale University in the US requires you should completed an application form whether in personal of online submission.
Pre-screening recording. The applicants will be invited for audition to identify their potentials in music. The session would enable the student applicants to know the basics in music when they are already accepted by the school. They will be screened in various musical instruments.
Official high school transcript. The Yale School of Music also requires students to submit their official high school transcripts so that the school would be able to know the previous academic record of the student. The transcript would also help the school the conduct of the student since there is apportion of it which the teacher-adviser of the student records the conduct of the student.
Letters of recommendation. The letters of recommendation is also required by the school to get some information who recommended the student why the student or the parent was able to choose the school.
Resume. The Yale School of Music also requires the applicant to submit a resume of his previous involvements as well as personal background.
Application fee. There is also a required application fee of $100 for every applicant. In other music schools they also have different fees. You just have to research for more music school in the internet if you’re an international student because there maybe other requirements you need to prepare.
